Dr. Sunil Singhal is the William Maul Measey Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair for Translational Research in the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. He serves in several leadership roles at Penn, including Director of the Thoracic Surgery Research Laboratory, the Center for Precision Surgery, and Surgical Director of the Penn Pleural Center. Dr. Singhal is an Associate Member of both the Immunology Research Program and the Radiobiology and Imaging Program at the Abramson Cancer Center, and he practices as an Attending Surgeon at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is also affiliated with Penn’s Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Group. His research spans nanotechnology, intraoperative immune suppression, muscle physiology, patient outcomes, myeloid-derived suppressor cells, and gene expression and profiling. Dr. Singhal holds a B.A. in Physics and Mathematics from Dartmouth College, an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business.
